Sixth-inning rally lifts Parkers Chapel past Fordyce

PARKERS CHAPEL – Paytin Greene picked a perfect time to deliver a decisive blow for Parkers Chapel.

A junior, Greene belted a grand slam as part of an eight-run sixth inning to lead the Trojans past Fordyce 13-5 Tuesday in an 8-2A clash at Robert McKinnon Park.

The Trojans had taken the lead earlier in the frame when two runs scored on a passed ball on ball four to Chris Greer, and Greene’s blast later in the inning helped seal PC’s fifth straight win.

Dyson Dougan, PC’s third pitcher of the day, picked up the win by working 1 2/3 hitless innings. He walked three and struck out three.

Dougan also led a 13-hit barrage by going 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.

Greer went 2-for-2 with three walks and scored three runs, while J.T. Ingram went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two walks.

All nine starters had at least one hit in the game with Chandler Boykin driving in two runs.

Ingram, PC’s starter, went the first two innings. He allowed three hits and three runs with two being earned. He walked one and struck out two.

Sy Fife went 3 1/3 innings, allowing four hits and two runs. He walked one and struck out four.

The Trojans (9-2, 3-1) are scheduled to host Prairie View Academy (La.) on Wednesday.
