James Andrew Benton was born on April 12, 1955, in Strong, Arkansas, to the late Walter Benton Jr. and Alma Benton. James departed his life on March 15, 2023.
On August 13, 1982, James married the love of his life, Brenda Joyce Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alma Benton, his sister Angela, and daughter Connie.
His memories will be cherished by his wife, Brenda Joyce Benton; daughters, Jamie (Boo) Benton-Davis (Antonio), Andrea (T.K.) Benton, Nancy (Nikki) McCoy (Stanley), Sheila Harris; and Theola “Bonnie” Harris-Younger (Jerome), sons; Yancy R. Harris (Sonya), and Paul Harris, bonus children: Danielle Benton-Young (Michael), Shaniel “P.J.” Yarbrough (Larry), Cassandra “Rosie” Vaughn-Andrews (Curlee), and Martavious Carrigan. Brothers Wallace (Petra) Benton, Michael (Rosa) Benton, and Kevin (Kiffany) Benton, sisters Laura (Charles) Matthews Bertha Hicks, Belinda Richmond, and Lisa (Dennis) Hausley. Aunts; Juan Bernard, Mae Lee Harley, and Erma Banks, brother-in-law Samuel Johnson (Sherry). Sister-in-law Linda Ramey. Twenty-seven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
