Fall semester scholarships available from SHARE Foundation

Special to the News-Times

The application period for SHARE Foundation scholarships is open through July 1 for the upcoming fall semester.

The SHARE Foundation offers several scholarships, including for:

- Individuals pursuing health-related careers with a long-term focus on those pursuing their master's in nursing;

- Individuals pursuing a bachelor's or master-level degree in social work, psychology, or mental health counseling; or

- Individuals pursuing public education careers in grades K-12.

Scholarships provide tuition and a small book stipend. Recipients, upon graduation, must work for one-year at Medical Center of South Arkansas, the SHARE Foundation or in Union County, depending on the scholarship awarded.

Applicants must have completed all prerequisites for their program of study, have a letter of acceptance to a particular program and must have a financial need to be eligible for one of the SHARE Foundation's scholarships. Online applications will be open through July 1 for the upcoming fall semester.

Applications are available at sharefoundation.com, under the Scholarships tab.

All SHARE Foundation scholarships are funded through donations. Those interested in helping to fund future scholarships may consider making a tax-deductible donation to any SHARE Foundation Scholarship program.
